ॐ बालरूपाय विद्महे
सदा नववर्षाय धीमहि
तन्नो बाला प्रचोदयात् ॥

Meaning:
“Om. We realize the One in the form of Bala (the Divine Child). We meditate upon the eternally youthful Goddess. May Bala Devi illumine and inspire our intellect.”

O Mother Balambika, whose ocean of compassion overflows all boundaries, and who is worshipped by Indra, the king of gods. You effortlessly created this entire universe of living and non-living beings as a playful sport and reside within it. Your divine form is beautifully adorned with sacred garlands, a magnificent crown, and shining gem-studded earrings. Please cast Your merciful and compassionate glance upon me.

कञ्जासनादि मणिमञ्जुकिरीटकोटि
प्रत्युप्तरत्नरुचि रञ्जित पादपद्मे ।

O Mother Balambika, your divine lotus feet are illuminated by the brilliant, colorful reflections of the jewels from the crowns of Lord Brahma and other deities as they bow down to you in deep devotion. The sweet, musical tinkling sound of your anklets is so beautiful that it surpasses the natural melody of swans. Please cast Your merciful and compassionate glance upon me.

प्रालेयभानु कलिका कलितातिरम्ये
पादाग्रजावलि विनिर्जित मौक्तिकाभे ।
प्राणेश्वरि प्रथमलोकपते प्रजानां

The radiant row of your toenails shines so brightly that it completely outshines the luster of the finest pearls. You are the supreme queen and life-force of the primordial Lord, who is the protector of all created beings. Please cast Your merciful and compassionate glance upon me.

जङ्घादिभिर्विजित चित्तज तूणिभागे
रम्भादि मार्दव करीन्द्र करोरुयुग्मे ।

O Mother Balambika, the perfect tapering shape of your lower legs eclipses the beauty of the quiver of Kama, the god of love. Your graceful thighs possess a delicate softness that excels both the stem of the banana tree and the smooth trunk of a royal elephant. Your dynamic, vibrant garments flash with a brilliance that surpasses a hundred lightning bolts. Please cast Your merciful and compassionate glance upon me.

माया विलग्न विलसन्मणिपट्टबन्धे ।

O Mother Balambika, your slender waist is adorned with a magnificent waistband heavily inlaid with precious rubies and shimmering pearls. Your waist, which represents the mystery of cosmic illusion (Maya), is bound elegantly by a glowing, jewel-encrusted band. निर्धूतहार विलसत्कुच चक्रवाके ।

Your chest is adorned with moving pearl necklaces that enhance your radiant form, which is traditionally compared to the beauty of cakravaka birds. Your charming facial expressions are brought to life by the subtle, playful movements of your vine-like eyebrows.
